IMPORTANT ALERT
Be aware we are getting reports about persons claiming to provide either a new service, or follow-up on a previous service rendered to our residents' homes.  One example of this would be someone coming out to inspect some roofing work done a few months ago.  The suspects inspect your roof and find something wrong and then ask you to pay them more money to fix the "new" problems.  You later find out no one sent them to your home.  Below are some tips to help prevent this:

1. If you didn't call them, they probably aren't supposed to be there.  Call the company they claim to be with and ask who they are.  Don't get the number for the company from them; instead, get the name of the company and look them up on the internet or phonebook.

2.  Ask them for identification.  If they are hesitant to give it to you, call the police.

3.  Look for markings on their vehicle.  Legitimate companies will have a logo or the company name on the side of the work truck.

4.  If they claim to be from a company which did some work for you in the past, ask to see a work-order and call the company you used.

5.  DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

6.  When in doubt, call the police.  We would rather come out and verify they are legitimate than have you get scammed.
